Savona is a beautiful lakeside community in British Columbia located 45.5km west of Kamloops, located at the west end of Kamloops Lake where it exits to the Thompson River. It is a small rural community with a population of approximately 540 which is surrounded by semi-arid grasslands and hills which support cattle ranching and agriculture.

Savona is under the local authority of the Savona Improvement District (SID) which was incorporated by Letters Patent in 1958 and responsible for providing fire protection, street lighting, cemetery care and park maintenance to the properties within the district boundaries. The Improvement District is governed by a Board of Trustees who are nominated and elected by eligible landowners of Savona
